In case of delayed starting or school closure, it is the parents' responsibility to make arrangements for the shelter and care of their child.
When conditions call for closure the next school day, announcements will be made on all major radio and television stations beginning by 6:30 a.m. Radio stations will typically carry announcements sooner than television. This information will also be posted on the District's web page.
When conditions are not as severe, the next school day may open on a delayed schedule. Consult the same resources as above, but pay particular attention to revised start and stop times as well as any changes to bus transportation routes.
In the event of severe weather conditions that begin during the school day, parents will be notified through local media as well as our Saf-T-Net, automated phone service (as available). If schools close early, students will be notified of the early dismissal time. Students who ride buses will wait for their arrival and will be transported home as usual. Students, who walk, drive or bike to school may leave at the time of dismissal. Please talk with your children and have a safety and supervision plan in place in the event this course of action is required. It is critical that school phone lines remain clear for emergency situations.
In the event of any of these inclement weather situations, please refrain from calling the school, unless it is an emergency. It is imperative to keep our phones lines open during these times. Please refer to the local media resources listed above or visit the District's web page.
