Riverdale Grade School
Admissions Process
Riverdale Grade School offers Portland metropolitan area families a smaller, challenging K-8 grade school experience in a supportive community. Riverdale Grade School provides a balanced blend of traditional academic rigor and a progressive, inclusive learning environment.
Applications are welcomed from non-resident students on a tuition basis. Click here for Application forms. Tuition assistance grants are available on a financial-need basis. Individual tours can be arranged by appointment any time of the year. Please contact Hilary Chandler, Admissions Coordinator at 503-262-4844, x4225 or hchandler@riverdale.k12.or.us.
Application
The first step is to return the completed application. An important part of the admissions process is for the student to visit the school and attend classes for a day. A parent and student interview will be conducted at that time to discuss academic promise, motivation, enthusiasm, creativity and any special talents.
Review Process
The Admissions Committee looks at each student in light of the unique qualities he/she would bring to our school, the profile of a Riverdale Grade School graduate and the School's mission. District policy also gives consideration to applicants, or their siblings, who have been previously enrolled in the district.
Statement on Non-discrimination
Riverdale Grade School admits students of any race, color, sexual orientation, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to all schools. It does not discriminate in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and athletic or other school-administered programs.
Admissions Process
Riverdale Grade School admits students on a rolling admissions schedule as long as space is available. Notification will be on a rolling basis approximately four weeks from application completion.
