Community Meeting Announcements

  • Community Meeting takes place most Wednesdays throughout the school year, as an opportunity to gather as a school and share important news and announcements. Following each Community Meeting, a summary of the announcements will be posted to this page.

    If you would like to make an announcement at a future Community Meeting, please fill out the Google Form sent out by Grace Thompson each Monday. Form will be open and accepting responses until 10am each Wednesday.

  • Community Meeting Notes- November 16th, 2022

    1. Library- Mrs. Hansen- Today is the last day to submit a book request to receive a library book that's been specially selected just for you. You will receive your books before leaving on Friday along with some bookish items for you to keep.


    Please return any library books, class novels, and textbooks that you are done with before heading off for Fall Break! Keep math books that you will need again next trimester, but please return everything else ASAP.

    2. Athletics- Mr. Duman- Congratulations to our October Student Athletes of the Month: Adeline C. & Henry B.!

    3. GSA- Saph L.- GSA is going to be hosting a movie night after school on November 30th in Mr. Thompson's room. GSAs from other nearby schools will be invited to join as we play some games, hang out, and watch Studio Ghibli's The Cat Returns. If you are interested in going, you can find our contact information on the posters in the halls.


    4. Maverick Club- Helen M.- 1) SOPHOMORE CLASS: celebrate your spirit week participation victory with a cookie party during lunch, on the sidewalk right outside the gym lobby. There will be a selection of Crumbl Cookies plus a gluten-free option. ONLY for sophomores.


    2) De-stressing treats will be available Thursday and Friday for finals in the main lobby. On Thursday morning, enjoy some “MAVERICK MUFFINS” to start your day, and pop by the rest of the time on Thursday and Friday for healthy snacks and drinks. Pick up some treats for a friend along with an encouraging message, too.  Thank you to the Maverick Club and Baylor B. for this!


    3) SPIKEBALL TOURNAMENT!  Watch for information and sign-ups about a lunchtime Spikeball Tournament after Fall Break. We need a few more spikeball sets, so please contact Audrey B. or Helen M. if you have one that can be used for a few days.  Thank you!


    4) MOD PIZZA fundraiser on Sunday, December 4. If you order in person or online at the MOD Pizza location on Kruse Way, MOD will donate 20% of sales to the Riverdale Booster Club, which helps support the athletics program by funding uniforms, senior night celebrations, team equipment and supplies, all-league plaques and more.     5. USSR- Henry B.- We’re back in the USSR (Union of Seasonal Student Runners). We meet to run after school Monday through Friday…Fridays are “frisbee Fridays” (we will play Ultimate Frisbee!).


    6. Ski Team- Grant A.- Look for posters around the building or email me for information about ski team! We train with students from Central Catholic and Ida B. Wells- it’s a great way to meet people from other schools. It’s fun & relaxed- no prior knowledge of skiing is necessary to join!
