Riverdale School District is seeking nominations and applications for our District's Educational Equity Advisory Committee. 

Senate Bill 732 was passed in 2021 and requires that each school district establish what the law calls an Educational Equity Advisory Committee. The committee is to be comprised of diverse stakeholders including students, staff, and community members (both in- and out- of district). This committee will be tasked with  supporting the District, School Board and Superintendent by:

• Advising about the educational equity impacts of policy decisions.
• Informing about the larger district-wide climate and helping to identify the forces that impact the success of students who have been excluded, impacted, marginalized, or underserved due to institutionalized and intersectional racism and systemic oppression. 
• Supporting and informing resolutions for situations in school districts that negatively impact underrepresented students, and making recommendations to the board and superintendent about how best to handle such situations.

In addition to the tasks outlined above, one (in-district) member of the Educational Equity Advisory Committee will need to serve on the Budget Committee (when a vacancy becomes available).
