Hello Falcons,
We celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at RGS after school on Friday and had fun learning from local museums/organizations, watching performances and viewing artwork that is representative of the culture. As typical for this time of year, there are many activities and celebrations. On Saturday, the students who won the Stock Market Game were recognized at their awards ceremony, one of the many enrichment events offered by RGS. We’re looking forward to Field Day next week as well as Move Up Day and Promotion coming up June 8th.
Enjoy the sunshine!

Outside Food Deliveries Not Allowed
Middle school students have discovered food delivery services. These deliveries cause traffic congestion as well as an increase in work for our front office staff. Please let your students know that it is no longer allowed to have food or drinks delivered to the school. If it is delivered, they will have to wait until the end of the day to pick it up. Thank you for partnering with us on this matter.

Lost and Found
Please collect any lost and found items before the end of the school year. Make sure to also return any school-owned items you may have at home before June 9.

Holidays and Celebrations
We wish a lovely Mother’s Day to all mothers and mother figures. We recognize that this can be a special day for many and a hard day for others.
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration at RGS
Thank you to all who joined us at the AAPI Heritage Month celebration at Riverdale Grade School last Friday. Every student in the school had the opportunity to meet folks from a number of local Asian American and Pacific Islander museums and organizations. Students in grades K-2 made Chinese inspired lanterns and students in grades 3 and 4 made Japanese inspired origami.
After school, we had taiko drumming and dance performances. Students had the chance to try out the drums and dance with a Chinese lion costume. It was lovely to see so many community members in attendance celebrating the diversity of our community! Check out some images from the event below:
