Grade School Testing
-
Riverdale administers various statewide and benchmark assessments throughout the year, along with in-class assessments.
Smarter Balanced
Smarter Balanced is aligned to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts/literacy and mathematics and is designed to help prepare all students to graduate high school college- and career-ready. Students in grades 3 to 8 will be tested in April and May.
OAKS Science
Students in grades 5 and 8 take the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) in the spring. This computer assessment measures student proficiency on science standards.
STAMP
Students learning a second language take Avant Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP). This online, adaptive assessment engages students with real-world content and measures student skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Benchmark Assessments
At Riverdale Grade School, we use Curriculum Associates’ i-Ready Program as our diagnostic, benchmark assessment and as a tool for adaptive instruction. This program allows us to monitor student progress on grade-level Common Core standards for English Language Arts and math and allows us to differentiate instruction for students within the classroom setting.
Students will take benchmarks assessments in the fall, winter and spring. The exact grade school window will be finalized at the beginning of the school year.
