Ways to Visit
Riverdale offers limited spaces for out-of-district students each year. Have you checked out our Riverdale At-a-Glance and Enrollment Options pages? These are great places to begin getting to know us before your visit. Also, take a look at our most recent District Newsletters.
Finding the right fit when it comes to school is very important. That’s why we recommend you try us on for size. Here are ways you can visit us:
High School Open House - Nov. 7, 2019
Each fall during the High School Open House, our high school opens its doors to families from within our district boundaries and across the greater Portland area who are interested in attending our high school. You'll get acquainted with Riverdale through classroom visits and discussions with teachers, parents and students about curriculum, campus life, programs and more. There will also be a special Q&A Panel to field your questions, and our enrollment coordinator will be available to explain the ins and outs of our enrollment process. This is the perfect chance to experience all that our high school has to offer and get answers to your burning questions. We hope to see you there. (Remember, we'll have spaces for students going into 9th and 10th grade next year.)
This year's High School Open House is Thursday evening on Nov. 7, 2019 from 6-8 p.m.
Kindergarten Coffee Q&A - Jan. 24, 2020
Interested in our kindergarten for next year? We'll have limited spaces available in kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year. Get your questions answered by our principal and enrollment coordinator during our Kindergarten Coffee Q&A in January. A large-group partial building tour is included; however, for a more personal and complete look at the school, please sign up for a Grade School Tour below. This event is open to both non-resident families requesting enrollment through our lottery and resident families planning to start their students at Riverdale.
This year's Kindergarten Coffee is Friday morning on Jan. 24, 2020 from 9-10 a.m.
Grade School Tours - September 2019 through February 2020
Families interested in our grade school can have private tours of our campus led by our enrollment coordinator. Tours are available September through February, to align with our non-resident enrollment process (new residents can contact us to arrange tours outside of this timeframe). During the tour, you will have the chance to observe classrooms and our enrollment coordinator will answer your questions.
Note: Tours for non-residents are only available for grades in which we are accepting enrollment requests. For new resident families, tours can be scheduled in all grade levels throughout the year.
High School Shadow Days - September 2019 through February 2020
The best way to discover what it’s like to be a Riverdale High School student is to spend a day visiting the high school and shadowing a current student. While it’s not required, it will provide a taste of what it’s really like here on a daily basis. Shadow Days take place from mid-September through February. High school Shadow Days are available for students who are currently in 8th-9th grade.
