Riverdale School District News

Interim Superintendent Tobin shares a message regarding the latest facility improvements being made at both schools and more information to be hopeful about the return of students to school buildings. Thank you to our parents, school board, staff, foundation and all stakeholders for your ongoing support and patience.

RSD In-Person Learning Survey

If you haven't already, please take the RSD In-Person Learning Survey. This data will be used as we hone in on a viable plan that prioritizes instructional time, safety, continuity of learning, and bringing back our youngest learners first per the Oregon Department of Education’s guidance.

PLEASE COMPLETE A SURVEY FOR EACH OF YOUR STUDENTS BY 8 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, to indicate your readiness to return to in-person learning.

Take the YouthTruth Parent/Guardian Survey

The district is asking for ~15 minutes of your time to complete an online survey that will help us improve your child’s school. We have asked YouthTruth – a nonprofit organization that supports hundreds of schools and districts across the county – to conduct an anonymous survey on our behalf. Your student (3rd-12th grade) will be taking their survey during class. We recognize that this survey doesn't directly align with CDL this year, but we sincerely thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your response is incredibly valuable to us.
Please take the survey before it closes on Friday, Jan. 22.

Message From School Board

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin 2021, the Riverdale School Board would like to express our sincerest appreciation to our parents, guardians, and students for your incredible patience and flexibility.
We understand the enormous responsibility and challenges that Comprehensive Distance Learning placed on parents, guardians, and students as you had to create time, space, routine, and support for learning at home. We realize that all of our families are experiencing a difficult time and that there are many other needs, in addition to student learning, that are critical as we continue to work through this pandemic together.
We are so thankful to our families and students for all the amazing gestures of kindness and generosity we continue to hear about. From donating to food banks and clothing drives, to thanking first responders, doctors and nurses and writing notes of gratitude to teachers and staff. Tutoring services have been created by our high school students for the younger grades, which exemplifies lifting each other up.
We honor all of you and your acts of generosity and kindness, patience and resilience, and the fortitude and determination you have demonstrated.
Together, we will finish strong.
With sincere thanks,
Carrie Banks, Board Chair
Joe Prats, Vice Chair
