Robotics finishes strong in first competition

Posted on March 15, 2017

three members of the robotics club pose with the 2017 robot The Riverdale “Pandas” (Team Pandamonium #2915) had a great run at this weekend's First Robotics Competition tournament in Wilsonville, finishing in 14th place overall (out of 40 teams).

Throughout the competition, the Pandas competed in alliance teams of three in which they amassed points as they won matches. (See robot #2915 in action in this video) The team was even chosen for the final afternoon's competitive alliance round, during which its alliance made it to the quarterfinals and finished as a top 10 team in offensive points.

Our students are both happy and proud of their accomplishment, as are we. Now they turn their attention to the next competition on May 31-April 1.
