The 1st Annual Riverdale Golf Tournament fundraiser was a success. Nearly 70 golfers, 100 patrons and 24 sponsors and donors helped Riverdale Athletics raise vital funds to maintain current programs within the 2018-19 school year. This year, after facing district-wide budget reductions, Riverdale Athletics committed to raising a portion of its budget through outside resources to reduce the impact to student athletes. Through sponsorships, golf registration, lunch and a silent auction, the tournament yielded $20,000.

“The timing of the tournament was perfect,” says Rob Pridemore, district athletics director, “It provided a fun way for the Riverdale athletic community to join together to help support many of our programs and kick off the year on a positive note. Several participants are already asking to be signed up for next year's event.”

He adds that Riverdale Athletics is tremendously grateful to the sponsors, donors, volunteers and athletes who helped make this event possible. “We are looking forward to growing our annual golf tournament next year. It is our goal to increase the number of golfers from 70 to a sold out event of 144.”

Planning for next year has already begun, and volunteers are needed. If you would like to be part of the Riverdale Golf Tournament Committee, please reach out to Mr. Pridemore.

As for golfers, don't miss your opportunity to be part of a spectacular event next year. Spaces are limited, so reserve yours early by emailing
