Riverdale Grade School News

The office staff are missing our RGS students very much, and we wanted to share some fun with you. Here's a silly Monster Mash video to brighten up your week.
As we pursue ways to stay connected, be on the lookout for a Virtual Halloween Costume Showcase from the RGS staff coming soon.
We’re in this together. Stay positive!

Suicide and Mental Health Awareness

To spread awareness of actions that we can all take to prevent suicide and reduce the stigma related to mental health concerns, we'd like to share some helpful resources. If students ever need to talk to someone, they can email the counselor, or talk with another trusted adult. There are also 24/7 phone resources as well:
  • If you know someone in crisis, SafeOregon is a 24/7 tipline for public schools prek-12th grade. Call one of two 24/7 anonymous concern reporting lines: 888-287-6157 or 844-472-3367 (the second number can also take texts). Email to tip@safeoregon.com. Report online at www.safeoregon.com
  • Youthline (peer support for middle school and high school students): call: 1-877-968-8491 or text: teen2teen to 839863
  • Multnomah County Crisis Line: 503-988-4888. If you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health crisis or are in need of mental health resources, give them a call.
Parents and guardians play a critical role in preventing youth suicide. Please see the resource below to learn more information about suicide prevention and steps that you can take to protect yourself, your community and your children.
