K-12 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Fireside Chat with Wyjuana Montgomery

Last year Wyjuana Montgomery spoke with 4th-8th grade students after they read excerpts from her book, “Bold, Brave and Courageous”. As an international speaker and two-time award-winning author and mentor, Wyjuana brings powerful stories and encouraging advice to Riverdale students and parents.
Wyjuana Montgomery will lead a K-12 parent presentation and discussion this Friday, Feb. 26 from 6-7:30 p.m. Parents will have a “fireside chat” style meeting with her, discussing her work in diversity, equity and inclusion. The emphasis of this event is to have a conversation and for her to share tips on how we move from talking about a concept to taking action.
Wyjuana will be joining Riverdale RGS classes and RHS advisory this Friday. At RGS she will present to students, “It All Starts With Hello,”discussing why meeting people who are different from yourself is so important. Her presentation to high school students is, “Expand Your Friend Zone”. This presentation touches on the four key components of the anti-bias framework of No Place for Hate.
Wyjauna looks forward to speaking with the Riverdale community and answering questions this Friday. Families, please register below and join in this amazing opportunity!
