Trimester 3 Schedules

RHS students will receive emails from their trimester 3 teachers prior to Thursday, March 18. with links to their new Google Classrooms.
RHS students can now find their trimester 3 schedules in StudentVUE and ParentVUE. We are still balancing and finalizing schedules this week. Students may receive an email from Cheryl Wright if she has schedule questions. You may be scheduled into classes you did not choose based on scheduling conflicts or availability. Before a schedule change is made, we encourage all students to attend at least one class. Class descriptions can be found in the course guide beginning on page 18.
STUDENTS: Schedule change requests should be completed with the online request form. Remember to use your Riverdale email when filling out the form.
Scheduling questions should be directed to Cheryl Wright at msb@riverdale.k12.or.us
Upon submission of the completed schedule change form, the form is dated and time stamped. The requests are processed in order of priority of the change needed, and then in order of receipt. It is important to complete the form as it will place students on a waitlist should availability open.
After turning in a schedule change form, students must continue to attend all classes listed on their schedules until there is an updated schedule in their StudentVUE account.

We will be offering two creative writing options in Trimester 3:

Current History Publications

We will work together as a creative team to document, analyze, and comment on the history of now. Bring your ideas and myriad skills and we will share the facts, explorations, and experiences of this year with the public through articles, stories, poetry, video, audio. Students will choose the best medium for their voice and we'll gather them in a periodical publication.

Creative Writing

In this class, students will experiment with various forms of creative writing--including poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. We'll examine diverse texts and learn to talk about craft. We'll engage in fun writing exercises, prompts, and games to get the creative juices flowing. By the end of the term, students will produce a portfolio of work.

Limited In-Person Instruction (LIPI) Update

Next week in LIPI we will continue academic support groups for 9-12, art activities, small group activities, and college and academic check-ins are scheduled. We will continue to expand students accessing these supports (and others) each week.
LIPI is not an everyday activity for students, and it does not take the place of the instruction provided by comprehensive distance learning (CDL). As we schedule, we will do our best to limit the impact on students’ CDL schedule.
Reminder: To Get Ready For Participation, please review these documents with your student.

  • COVID-19 Student Screening Form. Students who take part in LIPI will fill out and sign this form each day as they enter the building.
  • These info sheets on how to correctly wear a face mask and cough etiquette.

LIPI Waiver Form

This waiver needs to be filled out before students can attend LIPI for the first time and will be kept on file for future attendance. You are welcome to fill out the form in advance of your student coming into the building. Forms can be turned in by students upon arrival at the school or sent in via email to gthompson@riverdale.k12.or.us
