COVID-19 Screening Testing is Now Available

All RSD students are now able to receive free weekly COVID-19 PCR at-home tests through their school. We encourage all families to participate in this important program to combat the spread of COVID-19.

At-home COVID Screening Testing

Screening testing is for individuals with neither symptoms of COVID-19 nor exposure to COVID-19. The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), in collaboration with the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) will offer free COVID-19 screening testing to all Riverdale students beginning as soon as possible. Test kits will be distributed to those who have opted in. Tests are done at home and then turned into school weekly on a specific day. More information on how this process will work will be shared in an upcoming eblast.

Participation is voluntary, and families can opt-out at any time. The program will be administered by Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).

Participation in the program and all results are confidential, however, positive COVID-19 results must be reported to the local public health authority for case investigation and contact tracing.

To Opt in

Please complete the Adobe Sign form (with both the OHA and OHSU forms inside) before Monday, Oct. 4. The forms will be sent to you for your electronic signature in a separate email from covidconsent@riverdale.k12.or.usA form needs to be completed for each of your students, so if you have more than one, you will receive multiple Adobe Sign form emails. Please check your spam folder if you do not see this email later today.

Every student participating in the program must have BOTH FORMS (OHA & OHSU forms are combined into one Adobe Sign form) completed to receive screening testing. For students 17 and under, their parents or guardians must sign both forms. (If you already filled out the OHA form in early September, we ask that you please complete it again. We apologize for the inconvenience.)

The OHSU form is sent to OHSU for their records. The OHA form is kept at each school. The OHSU form will allow OHSU to send patient labels to the school for each enrolled student. Every student participating in the program must have a completed authorization form on file with OHSU before they can participate in the program and be given tests to take home.

Please be sure that your information on file with the school is up to date.
