REMINDER: DUE OCT. 4

Covid Screening Testing Opt-in Forms

All RSD students are now able to receive free weekly COVID-19 PCR at-home tests through their school. We encourage all families to participate in this important program to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Please complete the Adobe Sign form (with both the OHA and OHSU forms inside) before Monday, Oct. 4. The forms have been sent in a separate email from covidconsent@riverdale.k12.or.us for one parent/guardian to sign electronically. A form needs to be completed for each of your students, so if you have more than one, you should have received multiple Adobe Sign form emails. If you have not received a form for each of your students, please email covidconsent@riverdale.k12.or.us to request another form. Please also check your spam folder if you did not see a reminder email today.
Every student participating in the program must have BOTH FORMS (OHA & OHSU) completed to receive screening testing. Both forms are in a single PDF document sent via Adobe Sign. For students 17 and under, their parents or guardians must sign both forms. (If you already filled out the OHA form in early September, we ask that you please complete it again. We apologize for the inconvenience.)
If you missed this announcement, you can read all of the information from Tuesday's eblast here

College Corner

Riverdale High School College Counselor Robert Lovvorn will share exciting college-related information and updates with the Riverdale community every other week in these district eblasts.

Class of 2021 Successes

As the Class of 2021 begins their new journey this fall, it’s helpful for us as a school and community to look back upon all that they accomplished. The official 4-year acceptance rate for this graduating class was 95%, a full 20–25% higher than our public school counterparts. The remaining 5% intended to head to 2-year programs before moving on to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
The middle-50% GPA for the class was 3.5–3.9 (unweighted), and, on average, graduating seniors took at least 7 honors classes.

College Counselor Message

The college landscape is constantly changing, especially given the last few years. I just spent last week in Seattle with approximately 3,000 other college admissions professionals at this year’s NACAC College Conference. It was an incredible opportunity to connect in person with admissions teams I hadn’t seen in several years, and there was a lot of valuable information we’ll be incorporating into our plans for future Riverdale classes. We’ll be hosting four different College Nights, one for each class, over the next months, talking about how students should view the last year and a half as well as how best to prepare for the college application process.
