Riverdale School District News

District Town Hall

Superintendent Russo will host a districtwide, in-person Town Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6-7 p.m. at Riverdale High School in the Maverick Room. This Town Hall will focus on the district’s budget and will be led by Superintendent Russo and Business Manager Nicole Bassen. They’ll review the 5-year forecast presentation with the community and then call on audience members to ask for input and answer their questions.
We’d like everyone to attend in person, and therefore, the Town Hall will not be recorded or live-streamed.

Trick or Treat with the Riverdale Foundation

Things are looking pretty spooky around our schools recently - in all the best ways, of course! The most spine-chilling Halloween thought of all is what Riverdale School District would be like without the support we receive from families and community members during the Annual Campaign year after year. We rely on you to continue to provide a well-rounded and integrated curriculum that includes art, music, technology, libraries, a range of electives at the high school and much more. Give your students an extra treat this weekend and donate or pledge today.
If you are planning to attend the PTC Neighborhood Candy Crawl and Spooky Movie Night on Sunday, please stop by the Riverdale Foundation-sponsored donut truck and say “boo!” to Allison Williams and Adria Cassidy at the Foundation’s tent from 3-5pm. They might look witchy but they want to chat and not cackle. While you’re there, be sure to have your kids check their cauldron for an extra thrill.
Have a safe, festive and happy Halloween!

National Principals Month

October 2022 is National Principals Month and Riverdale is lucky to have two
amongst our staff who meet criteria – Jen McDonald and Bart Hawkins. Both our leaders have exhibited dedication, determination and grace in elevating our schools to be the best of educational institutions. We thank them for their work. We thank the many hours they put in. Without them, the essential work simply can’t be done.

We ask for your support with the following guidelines for dogs on campus:
  • Please keep dogs on a short leash when children are present during school hours. This is especially important during drop-off and pick-up times and when classes are in session on the field.
  • Please keep dogs off the playground/bark chip area.
  • Please continue to pick up after dogs at all times.
We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining our field for all who use it.
