Strategic Plan Updates

Over the span of four hours on Monday and Tuesday evening this week, 15 community members/staff spanning both schools converged upon the RHS Maverick Room to process (code and organize) more than 1,400 thoughts/pieces of input spread over each of our five buckets.
The totality of input came from community members, HS and GS students, and teachers using ThoughtExchanges, surveys and personal interviews. It was some quality input! Tuesday and Monday’s work ultimately culminated into a synthesis that will help district staff start the process of crafting actions and strategic direction.
We can’t thank those participants enough for dedicating their time and energy to get our strategic plan on track!
Results of the ThoughtExchanges/surveys/interviews will be shared with the community in upcoming enews!

The Buckets of Work are listed below:

  • Campus Safety & Design
  • Communication & Connections
  • Community & Belonging
  • District Identity & Sustainability
  • Learning & Instruction

Next Steps:

Staff will process the synthesis into actionable items (create the DRAFT strategic plan) throughout the rest of November thru December 4th.
The strategic plan will be presented to the RSD School Board for approval/reading in December.

Town Hall Thank You

Last night Superintendent Chris Russo and Business Manager Nicole Bassen held a town hall meeting to review the 5-year financial outlook. Between 40-50 parents/community members attended and asked many thoughtful finance-related questions. We want to sincerely thank everyone who came to support and participated in the lively discussion. We look forward to seeing applicants for our related and recently chartered budget subcommittee (more information is described below).

From The Foundation

Together, We Can Achieve Any Goal

The Riverdale Foundation relies on the generous support of families, staff, community members and alumni each year. Please join in our community's long tradition of investing in Riverdale schools by making a donation or pledge to the Annual Campaign today! Participation at the suggested level or above has the most impact, but every donation is truly appreciated. If we all participate in a personally meaningful way, we will achieve our goals.
So far, over 140 families have contributed nearly $500,000 to the Riverdale Foundation Annual Campaign. Thank you!! There are 21 days left to hit our goal of raising $1.3 million in this year’s Annual Campaign. We ask that resident and transfer families donate $3,500 per student and that tuition families donate $500 per student. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. Contributions and pledges may be made through Friday, December 2, 2022. Pledges must be fulfilled by April 25, 2022.
As a reminder, the donor thank you list will be reformatted this year. Donors will be displayed in the following dollar-value categories: $0 - $1,499, $1,500 - $3,999, $4,000 - $7,999, $8,000 - $9,999, $10,000 - $14,999 (magna cum laude), $15,000 - $20,000 (summa cum laude) and $20,000+ (valedictorian). Donors who meet suggested level and donors who go the extra mile by contributing $1,000 or more above suggested level will be recognized within their dollar-value categories. As always, staff donations will be listed separately without any reference to dollar value.
