Interim RGS Principal Announced

Published Monday, Aug. 24

Dear Riverdale Community,

We are pleased to announce and welcome Stephanie Kendall as the Riverdale Grade School Interim Principal. She comes to Riverdale with an extensive background in education, most recently as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA): Restorative Practices/Welcome Center in Reynolds School District. Prior to that, she taught special education, worked in the central office for three years and served as acting vice principal at two different elementary schools.

She is dedicated to building and sustaining reciprocal family and community partnerships and leveraging those partnerships to cultivate inclusive, caring and culturally responsive school communities that will be critical during Comprehensive Distance Learning. She is committed to building these community networks in a robust online presence because it is essential that school leaders are visible in their schools and community to develop trust and to create a sense of transparency and shared purpose with parents, staff, community members and students.

Her passion for leading all decisions through a lens of equity and inclusion within student learning will guide the grade school through this unique year. Our committee (listed below) was impressed by her tremendous warmth and dedication, her experiences and her educational background.

She will be a panelist on the Tuesday, Aug. 25 Parent Forum and looks forward to getting to know the Riverdale community.

Her email address is if you would like to contact her. Ms. Kendall will be sending regular updates to grade school families, including opportunities for community involvement as we move through the school year together.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Kendall as the Interim Riverdale Grade School Principal.
