Lunch Volunteers Needed

We are still in need of lunch volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays! The lunch program at Riverdale is the product of a years-long partnership between the Grade School and the Riverdale PTC to provide an important service and support the success of our children in the classroom. Our children have access to a variety of choices from salads and sandwiches to hot meals made from organic produce and high quality meats, at reasonable prices. We succeed at this through the support of our caregivers every day. This year, again with the support of our caregivers, we have been able to expand this wonderful lunch program to our children at the high school. Please consider joining this incredible group of volunteers and enjoy the opportunity to give your grade schooler a hug in the middle of their day!
You can sign up at here.
Please email if you would like to volunteer for an alternative schedule or if you have any questions.

We are excited to be celebrating Halloween this year with classroom treats and games. Students are able to wear school-appropriate costumes and will be partaking in classroom Halloween parties. Unfortunately, we will be unable to have our traditional parade, but will take plenty of pictures to share.

Equity and Inclusions Lessons #2, Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Over the course of the next few weeks, students will be having their second equity and inclusion lesson. These lessons continue to focus on the theme of identity. The lessons will help build strong classroom communities where students get to know each other and celebrate both similarities and differences.

Details about each grade-level lesson are below. I will continue to share future lessons as they are rolled out. Please reach out to me with any questions at

-Abby Rotwein (she/her), Director of Equity & Inclusion

Students are not allowed to remain on campus after the school day without supervision of an adult. We want our children to stay safe.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found area is filling up. Please label your children’s clothing and personal items in order to reduce lost belongings.

Cold Weather

Students play outside every day despite bad weather. Please make sure they wear appropriate attire for our Oregon weather.

Appointments and Early Release

Please try to make appointments outside of the typical school day as it adds a lot of coordination for our staff to juggle different schedules. If unable to do so, please let staff know with plenty of time to notify the teacher and arrange for locating the students. Thank you for your consideration.
